Some Pre-Departure Thoughts

Well... Okay. I haven't left for Spain quite yet, that will be at the end of May. I still have to check the dates for departure. But that doesn't mean I haven't started thinking about it!

Thinking about this experience always gets me really hyped up, but I just know as soon as I hit the language barrier, my excitement and confidence will probably start to go on the decline. That is one thing that I am really anxious about, is the Spanish language barrier...

Okay, well... That was probably terrible. But I'm working on it! I'm going to work on everyday words, and try to speak more in Spanish before my trip. I have began to think about my capstone, the equivalent of a thesis at Warren Wilson, and how I can incorporate my studies in Barcelona with that. Migration is going to be my route, and I plan on studying in Barcelona how migrants influenced the city, and how they contributed to the modern day culture.

But that is a big plan. For now I'm just going to focus on paying the plane ticket and getting over there. We'll see how my plans play out when I actually arrive in the country, or "el pais". Buenos suertes a todos mi amigos!

Also! Thank you so much to the two donors who have contributed to my study abroad trip! Shoutouts go to Logan Family Chiropractic, our family friends and chiropractors in Logan, Ohio, and Pizza Ria's Too, in my hometown of Thurston, Ohio! The both of you have helped with your contributions so much, and I will make sure to write very detailed thank you letters, and keep you both updated throughout my trip to Spain via this blog and my other journal! Once again, thank you so much to both of the businesses! (Muchas gracias a los dos de los negocios!)
